Maryjane Bunch Obituary

BUNCH, Maryjane P., 56, a retired nurse and resident of Richmond, died peacefully Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born August 12, 1952 in Fredericksburg. Maryjane is survived by her mother, Margaret P. Warren; her brother, John S. Philips and sister-in-law, Sallie W. Philips; her nephew, David Stuart Philips and his wife, Jessica; her niece, Jenny Philips Moss and her husband, Jason; four beloved nephews and nieces, one of whom visited Aunt Maryjane in the hospital the night before her death; her aunt and uncle, Nettie and Frederick R. Baser of West Caldwell, N.J.; her uncle, Waldo H. Beck of Fredericksburg; and many cousins and special friends. She also leaves her ever-faithful companion, Raisin. Maryjane graduated from King George High School and became a registered nurse, receiving her degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds. Her nursing career included loving care at Children's Hospital, Sheltering Arms Hospital and The Virginia Home. Maryjane was a gardener and an avid mariner. She will be missed by her many friends at Joy's Marina in Hampton. A funeral and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 24, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in King George. The family will welcome friends at a reception after the service. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, is in charge of arrangements.

Mart Jane truly enjoyed being on and around the water. We were at Joy's Marina together for awhile. We enjoyed her compnay even after we moved the boat. She fought a good fight against all of her ailments. She is resting easier now. Our condolences to the family.

I'm very saddened to learn of MaryJane's passing. I was her neighbor for 3 years and she will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Tom and the whole family.

To the family of Mary Jane, She was such a loving, caring and giving person to all who needed it. I had the pleasure of working with her at anthem for several years and am deeply saddened for your loss. She is at peace now. You are in my prayers.
