Mary Morris Obituary

MORRIS, Mary Tarantino, of Colonial Heights, passed away at her home on October 17, 2008. She is survived by her husband, James Truman Morris; her three children, Anthony J. Tarantino Jr. (Helen), Deborah T. Lanasa (Vincent) and Michael A. Tarantino (Karen); her grandchildren, Timothy Tarantino, Andrew Tarantino, Matthew Tarantino, Nicholas Lanasa and Kendall Lanasa; and her great-grandsons, Nicholas, Noah and Parker Tarantino. Mary served in the U.S. Marine Corps Women's Reserve during World War II and retired from Defense General Supply Center (DGSC) in 1986. She was a woman of tremendous strength and optimism who loved her family, her church, her dogs and bowling with friends. A memorial service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Colonial Heights, Va. 23834, or the Richmond SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Rd., Richmond, Va. 23220.
