To: the Family of Mrs. Stokes

Yes, we all loved her for her lovely smile, her positive approach with her students, her faith in her religion, and her "I can do it" especially during the piano recitals. She was always encouraging others.

Yes, we all will keep precious memories and a legacy of love throughout the many days and years to come.

May you, her family, keep the true legacy that she leaves with you.

Prayerfully submitted,
A Former Fairfield Court Co-worker

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of my favorite and only 1st grade teacher at Bellevue Elementary School. Mrs.Stokes was a very nice, nice person who had a big smile and a heart full of gold. I remember when we gave her a surprise birthday party at Rolesha's house and she was so excited. My mom video-taped the whole party. I sat on her lap and rendered a solo of Jesus Loves Me and of course she started singing along. Mrs. Stokes was one of my favorite teachers and inspired so many children. She never tolerated any mess. One time my fingers were popped for not putting my head down during rest time. I loved how she walked, her height, and her style of dress. She was like a model with so much class. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to know her and I'm sad for the people who never met her.

Mrs. Stokes was my daughter (Jonetta Cabble) most admired teacher. She would never be forgotten. We would always share the memories of her through the 1st grade supprise video tape.

May God be with you all.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my first grade teacher, Mrs. Stokes. She taught me at Bellevue in 1989. Just the other day, I was sharing a story with one of my students' parents about my first grade teacher. I will forever cherish the fond memories that I shared as a young student with her. I can still remember her smile and her encouraging words. She was such a a classy lady! She inspired me to learn and has shaped me into the educator that I became. I realize now that though I may not have been able to let her know the impact she has had on my life in words, she is able to watch from heaven. I pray that I can be half the teacher to my students that Mrs. Stokes was to me. My prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

My thoughts are with the family right now. Even though she's gone to a better place she will never be forgotten. I'm just blessed to even had the opportunity to have felt Mrs. Stokes presence and honored to have been a pupil of hers. Truly an Angel sent from above.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May you treasure your many memories and draw strength from the love of family and friends as you celebrate the life of Beverly Stokes. May the scriptures give you comfort such as we read at Psalm 34:18 - "God is near to those who are broken at heart; and those that are crushed in spirit he saves." You are in my prayers.
