Norman Coons Obituary

COONS, Norman M., Col. U.S. Army (Ret.), 87, of Richmond, a native of Jamestown, N.Y., died Sunday, October 26, 2008. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, June Wilcox Coons of Richmond; son, Conrad F. Coons of Solomons, Md.; daughter, Deborah C. Boze and husband, William H. Boze; and their sons, William H. Boze Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ryan C. Boze of Fairfax; his sister-in-law, Helen Livesay of Richmond; and her two daughters, Helen and Maurice Robinson and Jinx and Dickie Robinson and their families; nieces and nephews, George and Kathy Wilcox, Don and Ida Mae Wilcox, and Christy Wilcox; and other extended family members. His remains rest at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Rd. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church.

I am so saddened to here of Mr. Coons passing. He was a pure delight. He always brightened my day when he came to the warehouses. I will miss seeing him.
