Preston P. Satterwhite

SATTERWHITE, Preston P., 86, of Ruther Glen, died at his home Monday, October 27, 2008. Born in Caroline, he was the son of Maurice and Grace Satterwhite. He was the owner of Satterwhite's Grocery in Ruther Glen for 29 years and later retired from Swift Oil Company. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and a member of County Line Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn P. Satterwhite; a daughter, Donna M. Satterwhite of Roanoke; two sons, James A. Satterwhite and his wife, Linda, of Williamsburg and Larry P. Satterwhite and his wife, Donna, of Sandston; a sister, Doris Jackson and her husband, Wesley; a brother, Rev. Howard Satterwhite and his wife, Agnes, of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Satterwhite. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at County Line Baptist Church, 3461 Ladysmith Road, Ruther Glen, Va. 22546, with Rev. Fred Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
