To The Joseph Family;

It is with much regret to hear of the passing of Walter. Walter and I were in the 69 graduating class of Maggie L. Walker. He was a very nice guy.

Family, I know you loved Walter, but God loved him best. Walter has made his transition from earth to glory. My God continue to bless each of you at this time and wrap his arms around you and may you be covered in precious blood of Jesus. Family, Rest in the Lord.

Walter may you rest in peace.

Letter to my Uncle Jr.

(Written, October 31, 2008 @ 10:14 a.m., the morning he passed away)

Dear Uncle Jr.,

My heart is heavy for selfish reasons. Because I missed seeing you right before you passed I feel cheated. Because you didn't hear my voice one last time and I couldn't hear yours.

You tried your best to train me at a young age to do some daredevil stunts by standing at the bottom of the brick stairs' in front of grandma's house and you yelling up to me to "jump" from the top step and you'd catch me. What I didn't realize is that you were teaching me not to be fearful and to know that I could put my trust in you. Because you knew that you weren't going to let me fall. I am told that I trusted in you so much as a child that I would dare to leap from the top of those stairs while your back was turned and you wouldn't know it until I was calling out to you, "Uncle Jr. catch me" as I was in midair and already on my way down to you. It was just enough time for you to turned and catch me in your arms to your surprise!

You were the daredevil, a man of many stunts and many pranks. You were a trooper and a rebel against all odds. You made it through some tough times that baffled those around you. You proved to be a true fighter in life! You showed amazing strength, even if you didn't believe it yourself! God, sure had his hands on you, many times over. I am grateful now, that God holds you in his arms!

It's only been 10 hours and 14 minutes since you've been gone and I miss you already; but everyone else does too. Although I will miss you, I will cherish the many memories that you helped created throughout your lifetime and I will cherish the many stories of you that I'm sure will be shared throughout the years to come!

I love you, Uncle Jr.

Your loving niece, Crystal
