Alpheus G. "Rooster" Wells

WELLS, Alpheus G. "Rooster", of South Hill, died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his residence. He was a mechanic with J.A. Barker Garage, Scout Master of LaCrosse Troop #7454, a member of South Ruritan Club, American Legion Post #79, South Hill Moose Lodge, Bethany Baptist Church, Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Recipient. Survived by his wife, Billie Hall Wells; two daughters, Rose Ellis and husband, Chris of South Hill and Tracey Banks of Virginia Beach; and a son, Andy Gall of Clarksville; sisters, Marjorie King and her husband, Harmon of South Hill, Mickey Frise and her husband, Allen of Highland Springs; grandchildren, Miranda and Logan Ellis, Noah and Cailyn Banks; nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Ellen Campbell and her husband, Rev. Ronnie Campbell; six great-nieces and eight great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. Predeceased by his parents, Alphus and Marion Wells; and a grandson, Jamison Ellis. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Baskerville with American Legion military honors.
