Papa, It will be 4 years soon that GOD has called you home. There isn't a day that goes by that you aren't truly missed. I'm sure you're loving it where you are though, especially if there's Jeopardy ;) I thank you for all the wisdom that you have given me and passed on to my mom to give me also. I Love you so much. Uncle Douglas was a very important father figure to me. He always had advice to give and a kind word to speak. I will always remember the times we had together, and keep fond memories in my heart. Although he has transitioned I am happy that he is no longer suffering and is now in a better place. I will always love him.

Thank you for all who took the time and energy to express their thoughts on my father's passing. It amazes me on how many lives he impacted, and I know he would be pleased to know all of you appreciated his efforts.

LaVerne...thank you for speaking with me. It makes me feel so gracious to know my father spent his last days with a woman like you. May God bless you always.

DADDY...thank you so much for giving me life, and teaching me how to be strong. I NEVER forgot where I came from, no matter what path I walked upon.

~I waited 'til I saw the sun
I don't know why I didn't come
I left you by the house of fun
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come

When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand

My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever

Out across the endless sea
I would die in ecstasy
But I'll be a bag of bones
Driving down the road along

My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever

Something has to make you run
I don't know why I didn't come
I feel as empty as a drum
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come
I don't know why I didn't come ~

In my heart, I will always be rubbing your hair for $1( that was a lot of money for a little girl!), begging not to eat anymore pickles, or yelling at you for yelling at me about wearing red nail polish.

May you rest now.

Dr. V.L. Robertson-Goodwein

My heart is sadden with the loss of Dr. Aflred Goodwein. I will truly miss seeing him. He was a gentle soul who truly loved the Lord. His passion for education was remarkable and a legacy we can learn from. His vision was long range and with everything inside of him saw things the rest of us could only dream. His desire to teach others is a goal to reach. Even though I've only known him a short time my memory will last a life time. He is resting peacefully and smiling down on you. His spirit will always be with you and the entire family.
God bless you.

Romans 8:35-39

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Who shall separate us from the love of God? As Christians we declare that there is nothing in all creation, which will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those hopeful words from Paul become the focus of our attention as we gather in grateful praise for the life of Dr Goodwein. And we are grateful. Beyond your feelings of sorrow are feeling of gratefulness for having known him, for having experienced his kindness, for having witnessed his faithfulness.

With our Deepest Sorrow

On behalf of the family of both Pastor LaVerne Robertson-Goodwein and Dr. Alfred Barton Goodwein (formerly Dr. Alfred Douglas Jones), we appreciate all the condolences, prayers, gifts, and overall general support received from extended family, friends, and the community at large. Please know that our gratitude is immeasurable.

I am certain that above all else, my father (Dr. Goodwein) is smiling over us; for it was his greatest wish to do a good work amongst the people; to affect lives in a way that invoked positive remembrance, encouraged education, and stimulated a genuine sharing among all people.

In light of his contributions and the man that he aspired to be, we realize that we are not the only ones hurting from this loss; therefore, we too, extend our sympathies and condolences to all of you who have been affected by Dr. Goodwein's transition to the ascended realms. It is our prayer that you are also comforted in your time of grief and are able to find some solace in the higher the truths of his earthly exit as he journeys home.
