SHOWECKER, Ronald E., 64, of Mechanicsville, passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 30, 2008. He was the son of Christopher and Sarah Staley Showecker, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a veteran, having served three tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Showecker; a son, Ronald Allen Showecker of Corbin, Ky.; brother, Wendell Showecker; and sister, Marie Ditchley of Indianapolis; four stepchildren; eight stepgrandchildren, of which Matthew "His Buddy" Pilkerton and Cassie "His Sweetie" Pilkerton are of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday at 12 noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, meeting at Bennett's Chapel, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., Mechanicsville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, 8100 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
