I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Dennis back in the First Union days when he was there and I was a bank examiner with the OCC. I found Dennis a joy to be around. I am a 1973 VT alum so we had banking and our great university in common. The world is small as I am friend of Dennis' brother-in-law in Charlotte. God Bless Dennis' immediate and extended family.

To the O'Berry Family,
It was my pleasure to be Dennis' mentor from ODU as he switched careers. We had many long candid conversations about teaching. He was dedicated and determined. He also shared his love and deep devotion for his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Oberry Family,
Death is something that we can't prepare ourselves for even though we know it is coming. Your lost is our lost, because he was a wonderful person ,always a gentleman, friend, and terrific teacher.
We would always enjoy the days that Dennis would bring Ryan to school with him on workdays.
Those days are gone, but not forgotten.
Always remember that we are here for you and that you will be in our prayers.

Dear Pat and Your Sons,
We are extending our deepest sympathy to all of you and your entire Family.
Life is SO awfully unpredictable and it is SO hard to believe that Dennis has crossed to another plane and SO SUDDENLY. We keep seeing Dennis' car in the driveway and, at first, we were hoping it would drive away around 6:45 each morning, but no longer. Life is SO PRECIOUS and SO DELICATE. You are in our hearts. We are praying for your peace. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to let us know if you NEED ANYTHING, JUST ANYTHING; we would be honored to help. We are right here for you.
