Carolyn Hill Kumpf

KUMPF, Carolyn Hill, 64, of Deltaville, Va., passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, after a long battle with carcinoid cancer. She is survived by her husband, George, with whom she shared over 43 years. She was the beloved mother of two daughters, Susanne Muhly (Todd), and Barbara McManus (Richard); grandmother of Laurel Carolyn Muhly and Owen McManus; sister of James Warren Hill and Barbara Dvorak of Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Carolyn was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Purdue University. She spent 22 years with the Chesterfield County Schools, and enjoyed spending time on the bay and with her family. She spent countless hours volunteering. Her family will receive friends at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., this Sunday, November 9, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (www.carcinoid.org). She will stay in our hearts forever.
