George Cross Obituary

CROSS, George C., of Richmond Va., formerly of Silver Spring, Md., passed away on November 8, 2008, after an extended illness. George was born in Hyattsville, Md., on March 20, 1936, the son of Margaret B. and Roy S. Cross. He served three years in the United States Army and worked in the Lab at Fort Dietrich. He was a member of Hyattsville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Bonnie O.; his sister, Martha F. Redmond (Ernest); his sister-in-law, Trudie Cross-Thompson; his brother-in-law, Dennis C. Butler (Alysa). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his aunts, Blanche Skinner and Mae Stansbury. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 2 p.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Courthouse Road, Hanover, Va. 23069. A memorial service will be held at the VA Chapel in Richmond Va., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you are requested to send donations in George's memory to Virginia Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Paralyzed Veterans of America, 11620 Busy Street, Richmond Va., 23236.
