WRENN, Thomas Herbert, 89, of Emporia, widower of Elaine Braswell Wrenn, died Monday, November 10, 2008. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Buckner Wrenn; son, Thomas Herbert Wrenn Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Patricia Wrenn Ligon of Emporia; sister, Shelby Wray of Bristow, Va.; four grandchildren, Michael Wrenn of Fredericksburg, Va., Kevin Wrenn of London, England, Brian Ligon and Shelly Ligon, both of Emporia; four stepchildren, Lois Buckner Rook of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Kay Buckner Lynch, Arthur W. Buckner Jr. and Glen T. Buckner Sr., all of Emporia; seven stepgrandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008, at Main Street Baptist Church in Emporia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the George Braswell Scholarship Fund, c/o Main St. Baptist Church, 440 S. Main St., Emporia, Va. 23847, or to the Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
