Virginia Jaynes Obituary

JAYNES, Virginia L., born September 16, 1939, in Saluda, Virginia, unto Pauline Johnson and the late Grant Johnson. She departed this life Monday, November 10, 2008. Virginia was baptized in and joined Antioch Baptist Church at the age of nine. Her first formal education began in Middlesex County and was completed in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where for twenty-nine years she made her home. During the past twenty-six years, she has lived in Richmond, Virginia. Virginia is survived by her only child, a loving and devoted daughter, Anna Jaynes; and grandson, Darren "Christopher" Greene II of Woodbridge, Virginia; her mother, Pauline E. Johnson of Churchview, Virginia; one sister, Ruth L. Colquit of Richmond, Virginia; brother, Grant R. Johnson of Churchview; one uncle, William (Zulee) Johnson; one aunt, Tula Johnson; one uncle-in-law, Albert Strong; one nephew, Arthur L. Colquit; one niece, Monica Colquit; one great-nephew, Sean Saunders; and many cousins and friends. The memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the Antioch Baptist Church, Saluda. Interment in the church cemetery. Service of comfort by the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home.
