I'm Diara. The oldest for those who don't know. I was too young at the time to even know what to say or if I even wanted to. But for those who are curious, I turned out ok. I'm in the same field dad studied before he passed. Pharmacy! Talk about coincidence! I'm surrounded by friends and family and love. No kids yet but I take after my dad in my love of kids, so one day. I'm UNDERSTANDING football better but still not enough to have a team . But when I do, I hope I'll agree with Dad on these Cowboys! And I'm 27 now. This year is my 28th birthday. That's so nauseating to say. Anyway please feel free to reach out. I don't wanna leave me number here since it's a public page. In a couple of weeks your oldest daughter will be graduating from the 8th grade... WOW!!! I can hardly believe it. The worst part is that you wont be there to see her. I remember when she was a little girl and she would be sitting on your lap just chilling...looking around, she could barely see over the dining room table, but she was always daddy's girl. I'm sorry it took so long to write my entry, but only you can imagine how I feel. The children is the only reason why I'm still here. I'm stonger than I thought.
We were hitting on 4 years in our relationship. We argued about everything and we laughed about anything. I love you more than life. Now that your gone, I have to learn to live life. I don't even know how to watch t.v. You always turned the channels.
You will always have a place at home with the kids and me. Kyla talks about you all the time. You treated her the same as your other daughters and she's missing you like a dad. De'Cara is just all over the place, acting like your same "fat face" only talking and singing more.
As for me; I zone all day at work and still cook as if your eating dinner. I loved, love, and will always love you. You hold a special place in my heart. When we meet again we have some talking to do and you know why.
My family misses you dearly. You know you were part of the Baskins. I will see to it that kyla and De'Cara stay in contact with Diara.

It's no mystery why Darrell was loved by so many. I will alway remember his sense of humor. I'm sure that among other things is what he was known for and of course he knew that too. I can't thank everyone enough for their love, support and kind words to his (oldest) daughter and I. He would be so happy to know how strong she's being. She's confident that she'll see him again. Scriptures like John5:28; Acts24:15 and many more has given her this confidence. That and God's spirit is reason for her hope and strength.
