POLLARD, Virginia Cumbea, 86, of Richmond, passed away November 18, 2008. Waiting for Ginny are her husband of 54 years, Robert Pollard; son, Bob Pollard; parents, Bernard and Garnett Cumbea; sister-in-law, Ruth Cumbea; and many Pollard in-laws. She will be seeing her friends, Thelma, Irving and Billie. Left with wonderful memories are her daughter, Peggy Nieder and her husband, Richard; daughter-in-law, Linda Pollard; brother, Bud Cumbea; grandchildren, Laurie Slaton and her husband, Mike, Mark Pollard and his wife, Staci, and Bryan and Jennifer Nieder; and six great-grandchildren, Robert, Hunter, Michael, Mason, Nicole and Jacob. She was Nana to the Ostheimer, Meadows, Cumbea and neighborhood children. She enjoyed a career in bookkeeping, loved movies, theatre and music, especially the "big band era". In later years, she enjoyed the friendship of staff and residents at Beth Sholom Home. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 21, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street. Graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to BSH Employee Holiday Fund, Beth Sholom, 1600 John Rolfe Parkway, Richmond, Va. 23238.

I can't be with you this week, but I am so glad that I had the past week to be there for my mom and Peggy and all the Neider family. I hope and pray that she was aware enough to know that I was there with her. I love you, Virginia, with all my heart, and will miss you dearly. She was about the best "mother-in-law" any wife could every dream for.
