Willis James Lacy Jr.

LACY, Willis James Jr., 88, of 3309 Detroit Ave., Richmond, Va., went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Mr. Lacy was born in Richmond to the late Willis J. Lacy Sr. and Lottie Smith Lacy. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Union Baptist Church in Ashland, Va. He was a man full of family history and wisdom that he was ready to impart to all who would listen. He had a great faith in God, and a true love for family and friends. He is preceded into glory by two loving wives, Cecial and Charlotte; and stepson, William Wright Jr. He leaves to carry the essence of his heart three sons, William Spindle Sr. (Brenda), Willis J. Lacy III (Mary), Cecil P. Lacy (Carolyn); a daughter, Myrtle Laree Dickerson (William); two stepsons, Kenneth Wright and Calvin White; five step-daughters, Janice E. Parker (James), Evelyn Littlejohn (Willie Sr.), Marie Mines (Olando), Louise Faulkner (Preston) and Cynthia White; a former wife, Dorthy Lacy; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; devoted in-laws, Daniel Quarles and Ida Quarles "Candy"; devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Harris, and Rev. and Mrs. Garland Fountain; and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Remains rest at the F. E. Dabney Funeral Home, 600 B St., Ashland, Va. Homegoing services will be Wednesday, November 26, 10 a.m.. at the Union Baptist Church, 301 N. Snead St., Ashland, Va. Rev.
