Bernard Casper Obituary

CASPER, Bernard M., 83, of Richmond, departed this earthly harbor at 6:47 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008. He retired from VDOT in 1991, after 26 years of service, was a former C&O Railway employee and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years. Bernard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Hunt Casper; daughter, Corinne Casper; son, Jerry Casper; grandson, Peter Casper Aikin; nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Corinne and Jerry,

Very sorry to learn of Uncle Bernard's death.Hope it comforts you to know he is in a better place. A favorite childhood memory of mine is going to the house and seeing his latest fin- style car. To this day I think of him when I see one.
