POTTER, Robert W., 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harry P. and Clara Stull Potter. Mr. Potter retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army and also the Virginia Linen Service. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie B. Potter; a daughter, Debra S. Walwer and husband, David, of Colonial Heights; two sons, Robert W. Potter and wife, Michelle, of Portland, Ore., William C. Potter and wife, Sharon, of Chester; two brothers, Don Potter of Indiana and James Potter of Pennsylvania; four sisters, June Dellinger of Falls Church, Va., Sallie Trafalgar of Leechburg, Pa., Patricia and Nancy of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Alex and Eric McVay, Sam Spaulding and Lauren Walwer. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2008, in Grace Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Richard J. Finck officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Road, Chester, Va. 23831. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
