Marvin Hood Obituary

HOOD, Marvin Eugene Jr., age 77, of Glen Allen, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2008. He was preceded in death by his sister, Imogene Grayson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louise T. Hood; son, Kevin Eugene Hood; daughters, Michele Louise Hogge and her husband, J. D., and Susan Renee Young and her husband, Ron. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon and Bryant Baird, Sean and Cory Hogge, Allie, Austin, Brady and Madilyn Young; and his sisters, Gladys Winters and her husband, Richard Miller, and Madeleine McGehee. He was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church and a hair stylist for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener, devoted husband and loving father. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, from 6 to 8 p.m., where services will also be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Derbyshire Baptist Church, 8800 Derbyshire Road, Richmond, Va. 23229.
