Sadie Brandon Obituary

BRANDON, Sadie Gill, 96, of Mannboro, Va., passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008. She is the widow of Braxton B. Brandon, and predeceased by a brother, Weston Gill. Sadie was a Sunday School teacher for many years at Liberty Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church, both in Amelia County. She is survived by her two daughters, Janis B. Adams and husband, Howard, of Richmond, and Mary B. Ashford and husband, John, of Towson, Md.; three grandchildren, Angela Parker (Ken) of Mooresville, N.C., Pam Grafton of Midlothian, Va., and Andrea Jones (Travis) of Warrenton, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Jones. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 6, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Bus. Hwy. 460, near Blackstone, and also where chapel services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Byrd House, 1114 Cedar Hill Road, Blackstone, Va. 23824, or Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 263, Amelia, Va. 23002.
