Rachel W. Bohannon

BOHANNON, Rachel W., of Mechanicsville, passed away on December 5, 2008 at the age of 78. Mrs. Bohannon was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John M. Bohannon, in 1987. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Susan, Marty Ray (Kim), Jeanne Pitt (Bubba), Scott (Lynn) and Michelle (Brian). All grew up in Mechanicsville and graduated from Lee-Davis High School. She also was "Granny" to her nine grandchildren, Cole, Tyler, Rebecca, Austin, Loren, Parker, Heath, Chase and Wyatt. She is also survived by dear friends, Emily and Buddy Graham, David and Sharon Edmondson; and many other special friends. She was employed by the Commissioner of Accounts for the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond for 45 years and retired at the age of 75. The family will receive friends Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad.
