RANSON, Lucile Gentry, of Richmond, passed away December 8, 2008. She was the widow of Everett W. Ranson, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Ranson Wilkerson and son-in-law, Ben H. Wilkerson; her granddaughter, Emily W. Mears and her husband, Ken Mears; two great-grandchildren, Ranson W. Mears and Benjamin T. Mears; her sister, Anne Anthony; as well as nieces and nephews. She retired from the International Mission Board (formerly Foreign Mission Board). She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund, 11220 Nuckols Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059. Condolences may be made to www.mem.com.

Gammy was an amazing woman. Our family feels so blessed to have had the chance to have this couragous, strong woman and her family in our lives. Gammy, you will be missed on earth, but we will be together again with Him in Heaven.
