ROSE, Charles W., 90, of Columbia Cottage, Palmyra, Pa., died Monday, December 8, 2008, in the home. Born January 6, 1918 in Franklin, Mo., he was the son of the late Arthur C. and Eunice I. (Watkins) Rose. He retired a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force and later retired as vice president of printing operations at William Byrd Press in Richmond, Va. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grantville, Pa., and the Air Force Association. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Mary R. (Rutherford) Rose of Columbia Cottage, Pa.; children, Patricia K., wife of Peter Keyes of Knoxville, Tenn., Martha S., wife of David Sanderson of Dansville, N.Y., Steven A., husband of Linda Rose of Hummelstown, Pa., and Nancy J. Rose, wife of Bruce Batchelder of Richmond, Va.; and grandchildren, Mary and Joel Souther, Andrew, Michael and Molly Sanderson, and Emily and Kevin Rose. Memorial services will be held 12 noon Friday, December 12, 2008 at Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, Pa., preceded by a visitation at 11 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, Pa. 17028. Condolences may be shared at BuseFuneralHome.com.
