Mrs. Hall, Greg and Maliq,
Mel was such a fun, nice and caring friend. I have so many memories of Mel that makes me laugh or just smile. I didn't have a lot of contact with him after graduation, but he and his family I often thought about. I have never met you Maliq. The last time I spoke with your dad he talked about you a lot. Your father was a wonderful man and bought joy to so many lives. I was blessed to speak with Mel not too long ago and I'm very grateful for that. Mrs. Hall and Greg I'm truly sorry I was not there at the time. Unfourtantly I didn't find out until after the arrangements. May the smiles he put on your faces remain in your hearts. Love you all.... May he rest in peace.

Thank the Lord for people who cause us to improve! Because of you I had to elevate my streetball game. I suppose that same competitive fire carried over into other areas of you life. No doubt Henrico is the better for it. The Elliott family will keep your family uplifted in fervent prayer. We pray that God extends His hand of comfort and strength through this cloud of pain and loss. Remember the good times, recall the trying times and reflect on the best times.

Mrs.Hall and Greg,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Melvin. I hadn't seen Melvin in a long while, but I can say he was a very sweet person with a warm spirit. I know it is never easy to get use to the loss of a loved one, but just know he is resting peacefully in the hands of the LORD.

Greg,
My family's deepest condolences and prayers go out to you. Melvin and I went all the way back to middle school at Henderson. We were best friends back then. But, we ended up going on to different high schools. With that said, whenever we bumped into each other, we always talked as if nothing changed. He was a good, sincere and loyal friend. If there is any consolation, feel free knowing he is in a better place right now. If you or your family need anything feel free to reach out to us.
Thanks,
The Wilson Family

My deepest condolences go out to the Hall Family. Melvin "Harpo" was my friend who watched over me my whole time living in Richmond. Harpo was a friend who was like a brother to me, I was sadden to here about Melvin yesterday and all I could say was why didn't I keep in touch. I lived next door to Melvin and he was asked by my father to lookout out for me and that's what he did. Hop I know I thanked you before but now I feel that I need to thank you again. You will be missed by me deeply and the rest of the girls will miss you too. I love Hop, from your girls from Charlottesville... Joel, Nee, Tina, Carolyn, Boo, and Kim.

My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Mrs. Hall and Greg at this difficult time. Its hard to put into words what a friend has meant to you , whom you have known almost your whole life. Melvin "Harpo" as we affectionately called him ,was a good friend with a good heart. I have my greatest memories from our younger years. Seems like yesterday Mrs. Hall was taking us to work at Kings Dominion, or Harpo was picking us up in the Tempo to go shoot ball. Even though we grow and our lives take us in different directions, i would see Mel from time to time and 1 thing about him never changed. He always had a smile on his face and he was happy to see you as you were him. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten my friend. RIP "HARPO"

Our prayers go out to the family of Melvin Hall. Melvin was a nice person who always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. To Neketa and Maliq I know your faith in God will sustain you through these trying times as you be strong for a little boy who lost his father too soon in life. Have peace in knowing that Melvin was able to spend his last days here on Earth with his precious son who he loved dearly. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
