SHIPP, John M., age 69, of Meherrin, Va., died on Friday, January 16, 2009. Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Shipp; two daughters, Joyce Barger and husband, Wayne, of Meadowview, Va., Kate Martin and James King of Farnham; three sons, Jerry Shipp, and wife, Beverly, of Bristol, John Shipp Jr. and friend, Keaven Freeman, of Washington, D.C., Paul Shipp and wife, Jennifer, of Topeka, Kansas; 16 loving grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009, at the Browning Funeral Home in Keysville, Va., with visitation following the funeral service. The Browning Funeral Home in Keysville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
