SHELTON, Helen Stepp, of Richmond, Va. went to be with her Lord on January 18, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Shelton; her daughters, Nancy Clements and Julie Snyder, and their husbands, Paul Clements and Sherman Snyder. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristen and Daniel Clements, her brother Edwin Stepp, and her sister Martha Lovitch. Helen was born on January 23, 1934 in Williamson, W. Va. She was the daughter of Merle Harris Stepp and Nannie Reed Stepp. Helen was an active member of the Virginia Society of the DAR, serving as chairman of many state committees and most recently as the State Corresponding Secretary. She was a past member of the Shadwell Chapter in Charlottesville and was a member of the Commonwealth Chapter in Richmond. She was also active in the Huguenot Society, Colonial Dames, Daughters of Founders and Patriots and other hereditary societies. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 23 in Williamson, W. Va.
