VAUGHAN, Ellen Stembridge, age 93, of Axton, Va., passed away January 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Russell Vaughan; and her brother, Claude Stembridge. She is survived by her daughter, Greta V. Clay and Johnny of Alberta; her son, Russell Vaughan and Judy of Axton, Va.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ollie Jean Lewis of Blackstone. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Memorial Methodist Church Memorial Fund or New Hope Christian Church Memorial Fund.
