WALKER, Jennie Jewell, 90, of Richmond, went home to be with her Lord on January 20, 2009. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Pearl W. Covington; nieces, Linda C. Kalamaras and Cathy C. Gatewood; nephews, William M. Coffman and Larry S. Covington, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Jewell was a faithful member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church for 72 years. She was a retired bookkeeper for Carter Sand and Gravel Company. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, at the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, in Mechanicsville. Interment will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 12 noon Thursday at Fairfield Presbyterian Church, 6930 Cold Harbor Road, Mechanicsville, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairfield Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
