SANDERS, Lucy Elsie, 78, of Warsaw, Va., passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009. She was a bus driver for Richmond County Public Schools for 38 years and a member of Menokin Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Sanders Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Sanders and husband, Tim Laynor, of Toano, Va.; a son, Lee Sanders and wife, Kelly, of Warsaw, Va.; a grandson, Garnet Sanders; one sister, Girlene B. Hamlet and husband, Arnold; and her dearest friend, Jean Bareford, of Kilmarnock, Va. The family will receive friends at Jones Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood, Va., on Saturday, January 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Menokin Baptist Church, Warsaw, Va., on Sunday, January 25, at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Neck Farm Museum, P.O. Box 365, Heathsville, Va. 22473, Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department, Company # 3, c/o Glenn Morse, 1033 Jones Creek Rd., Warsaw, Va. 22572, or Hopewell Humane Society, Inc., P.O. Box 562, Hopewell, Va. 23860.
