John Willard Obituary

WILLARD, John Patrick, 74, of Richmond, died January 22, 2009. He was the beloved adopted son of the late, Sedona Marie Shaw. He is survived by two godchildren, Cindy B. Tutko and Beau Bailey and many close friends. Mr. Willard was active and enjoyed the fellowship in many organizations in the Richmond area deaf community. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was retired from Wachovia Bank. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Rd., Richmond, Va. 23228. Arrangements by the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

To John's family:
I met John at Our Lady of Lourdes several years ago before becoming an ASL student at JSRCC. He was one of the friends that I met while attending OLL which led me on the journey of learning ASL. I will miss him and always remember him as one of the reasons that I began my journey. He was always so nice to me and I always enjoyed his stories. I am glad he is with our heavenly Father and is now completely healed. My blessings to John's family for this kind man.
