HAWKINS, Mrs. Rosa Jane, was born to the late Deacon King E. and Annie B. Brooks. She was born on July 2, 1916, in Hanover County. She departed this life on January 24, 2009. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Phyllis Robinson (Nathaniel), Louis Hawkins (Linda) and Jeffrey Hawkins; two grandchildren, Tiffany Loving (Lewis) and Brandon Hawkins; one great-granddaughter, Kamille Loving; two sisters, Dorothy Brooks and Annie Mae Brooks; three nephews, Rev. Eugene Cosby, Willie Cosby Jr. and James Hamlett; two nieces, Audrey Dunk and Lucille Lee; several cousins, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Fourth Baptist Church, 2800 P St., where funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Rev. Dr. Marion R. Tapscott officiating. Burial Roselawn Memory Gardens.

To the family of Mrs. Hawkins,
I want to express my sympathy to her family. Rosa was such a lovable person and was always smiling whenever you visited her. I always visited her at the Nursing Home and read the Awake magazines to her. I will always remember her beautiful smile and hope to see her in the resurrection. May Jehovah God continue to bless all of you.
