PRATER, James R. "Bob," 70, of Glen Allen, left this life on Monday, January 26, 2009. He was preceded in death by his son, James Wesley "J.W." Prater; and a daughter, Kelly Lynn Prater. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce M. Prater; five daughters, Sharon Underwood, Donna Barden, Marylyn Zwilsky, Anna Heath and Dawn Prater; one sister, Gladys Taylor; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob retired from the Department of Corrections as an electrician. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 6 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service to follow in the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland.
