Anne Faw Bernard

BERNARD, Anne Faw, of Staunton, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1929 in Richmond, the daughter of Dr. James Clarence and Adice Jones Faw. She received a bachelors degree from Mary Baldwin college and taught school in Fairfax County. For many years she served her church and community in numerous volunteer capacities. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, George Vincent Bernard; two daughters, Katherine Bernard Furr of Richmond and Susan Faw Bernard of Staunton; and a granddaughter, Diana Bernard Furr. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Staunton. Burial will be private.
