Dear Audrey,
On behalf of your friends and classmates of the dynamic and vivacious VUU Class of 1964/1968, I extend this message to you and your family as our formal expression of heartfelt sympathy and condolence as you mourn the death and loss of your Mother, Mrs. Ethel L. Stevens. May you find comfort in knowing that we share your loss and stand ready to support you during your bereavement. Please let us know whatever we can do to assist you during and after this period of grief and sadness. We’re only a telephone call or an e-mail message away.
Based upon Mrs. Stevens’ life’s work and impressive legacy as a church musician, we rejoice that he has successfully made her transition to a higher height where there is no more pain or physical suffering. We encourage you and your family to examine the scriptures carefully and find solace in the inspirational words, particularly in Psalms 28:7-9 which assures us that: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed. Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them also, and bear them up forever.”
May Mrs. Stevens’ soul be at rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.
Sincerely,
Co-Chair
Steering Committee
VUU Class of 64-68

Carlton Stevens & Audrey Rhone
Mrs. Stevens was a wonderful woman. When I first came to Bethlehem, both she and Mr. Stevens welcomed me with open arms. She was always warm, kind, and loving. Although her work here is done, she has left a legacy of love which will forever keep her memory alive.
Take comfort in the times you have shared -- the laughter, the joy, the love. Know always that your mother is but a memory away.
