BLANKENSHIP, Bernard Milton "Steamboat", 83, of Greenville, S.C., formerly of Richmond and Largo, Florida, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Margaret Tucker Blankenship, and his second wife, Patricia Blankenship. He is survived by his daughters, Anne B. Eskew (Mark) and Earlyne B. Perkins (Dennis); his grandchildren, Sarah M. Ashworth (Kenneth), Andrew R. McComb (Brannon), Dennis A. Perkins, Jr. (Jade), and Joseph M. Perkins; great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Caroline Ashworth, and Cayleigh Perkins. He is also survived by his sisters, Hazel B. Cobb and Grace "Girlie" B. Zahn; and a brother, Grover Blankenship. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. The burial will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Moss Feaster Cemetery, Largo, Florida. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville, South Carolina. Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville, S.C., is in charge of the arrangements.
