Iverline Lowery Obituary

LOWERY, Iverline Smith, age 83, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Nathaniel Lowery; three daughters, Shelia McGuill (Owen), Paula Krebbs (John), Janet Bishop (Dale); five grandchildren, Susan Campbell, Katie Greer, Robert Krebbs, Emily Krebbs, Jessica Rhea; and five great-grandchildren. She was a retired employee of Richmond Memorial Hospital, and she was a longtime member of New Hanover Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at New Hanover Presbyterian Church, 10058 Chamberlayne Rd., Mechanicsville, with interment at Signal Hill Memorial Park, following the service.

Dear Paul, Sheila, Paula, and Janet,

Your mother was a dear friend. I knew her since I was a young child at Laburnum Presbyterian. She meant so much to me and my mother and family. There is another angel looking down on us from heaven now. Our sincerest condolences to you all.

Paul and the girls- I was sorry to learn about "Tiny" 's having passed. She was a dedicated lady, and I was privileged to be her pastor for several years, and friend ever since. Her suffering is now over, and I trust your faith will give you the strength to appreciate having her in your life, and the determination to move on with your own lives. Thank you for your friendship, and bless you forever.
