ARMSTRONG, Ruby Bergren, age 96, of Richmond, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Armstrong, an employee of C&P Telephone Company; by brothers, Bud, Rob and Billie Bergren; and by sisters, Blanche Dalley and Mae Hanson. Surviving are daughter, Sandra Darnes and husband, Bill; daughter, Jane Stout and husband, Robert; and grandchildren, Rick Phillips, Michael Darnes and Natalie Peck, all of Richmond. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 6, at Lakeside United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 5875 Bremo Rd., Suite 710, Richmond, Va. 23226.

I am now twice as thankful that we were able to stop in and see Mrs. Armstrong when we were in town after Christmas. Her bright smile and merry laugh will be what I remember most. Our condolences to you all.
