Bishop Willie Elam Jr.

ELAM, Bishop Willie Jr., 80, of Chesterfield, entered into eternal life on January 31, 2009. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Clara B. Elam; and son, Jeffrey Elam. He is survived by his children, Warren Elam, Michael Elam, Everett Elam, and Jeanette Braxton; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Odessa Wallington of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Price and Carolyn Ellis of New York, and a host of nieces and nephews. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets, where the family will receive friends, Friday (today) from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 11 a.m. at Harrowgate Worship Center, 13811 Harrowgate Rd., Chester, Va. Rev. Lyndon Johnson, pastor, Rev. Stanley Jones, officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tabernacle of Praise, COGP, 1541 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Richmond, Va. 23223.
