To those who read this, I am sorry for your loss, for our loss. There are thoughts I have but struggle with the right words to say. As I grow older, I come to realize what is passing me by. My words are more to those still here, and more for me to just say what I feel. Things I wish I had more time to have been able to say to Uncle Louie, to my Dad, and others that went on to Heavan before them. If Uncle Louie could hear me now I would tell him this - "where did all the time go". You lived your life to the fullest and I was lucky to have been able to share some of it with you. You were loved, and you loved back. While we were not close in our adult years which I regret, I cling to the days when I was that little niece of yours - and can vividly recall the times with you and my Dad singing together. I think that is where I got my love for music, and I can just hear my Dad or you retort back to me saying "too bad you are tone deaf" haha. The childhood memories of the ones close to my Dad as I grew up like you, Uncle Carlton and Doug, Hilda, Dinky, Deb, Vic, Lisa and Anita, Jean and Harold and Sue and Shelly make me smile even today, and are a big part of who I am. I was lucky to have such a large and loving family on both my parents side. I was lucky to have you and still lucky to have those that are still here. I long for those childhood days and wish I had not allowed life and time to get between us and those memories. With that said, your passing points out to me just how much I am loosing as time goes by. My Dad and I who lived different lives still had an unbreakable bond and it seems like yesterday he was sitting next to me - teaching me how to draw pictures or to be creative. That is the "Cornell" in me and I am so lucky to have it. In reading this guest book and seeing my family at your service - it reminds me just how much time I wasted on things that are not as important. I miss those people, I miss you, I miss my dad. I look forward to keeping the "cousins" to their promise of getting together in the spring - and when we do you and Dad and Shelly will be there with us. Oh what a TRIO the three of you are! Tell my Dad, Uncle Ray, Aunt Madeline, Grandma Cornell, Memaw Coltes that when they left, they took a part of me with them. And here at home I keep a part of them and YOU Uncle Louie - still alive and loved forever more.
Love you and those still here with me.

Lou was very loved and will be missed. He could always be counted on to do the unexpected and always had a joke or a smile to make the moment a good one. May the road rise to meet you....
To Doug,Sonya and Carlton, I know what he meant to you and I am truly sorry for that which you have lost... a husband, a brother and a friend. May god bless you.

I enjoyed meeting Lou at the Moose. He was a good singer and dancer. His faithful devotion to his wife while she was in the funeral home and recently at home was admirable.
