FRANCE, Carrol Carlyle "Captain Crunch," 82, of Reedville, Va., passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at his residence. He was a retired ship captain the Menhayden Fleet in Reedville, Va. He was member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, Va.; The American Legion, Reedville, Post #117; and Reedville Masonic Lodge #321 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by three children, Michael France, Carlton France and Dennis France; and one brother, Edward Lee France. He is survived by his wife, Lois France; daughter, Patricia France; son, Jeff France, all of Reedville, Va.; and a sister, Charlotte Steward of Richmond. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher France, Crystal France, Virginia Booth and husband, Harry, and Victoria Edwards; and two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Tre Booth. Services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, Va. at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion, Post # 117, P.O. Box 301, Reedville, Va. 22539 or the Swift - Walker Fund, Attn: Ann O'Herron, P.O. Box 588, Kilmarnock, Va. 22482.
