Otha B. Vial Jr.

VIAL, Otha B. Jr., 75, of Glen Allen, passed away at home on February 20, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.B. and Ida Vial; son, Gregory Lynn Vial; and nephew, John B. Vial. He retired from the grocery business having worked at A&P, Superfresh and Food Lion. He is survived by his children, Glenda Shaw and husband, Bill, JoAnne Paulette and husband, Dennis, Rick Vial and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Kellyn, Mark, Brittany, Kaylyn, Ethan and Dana; great-grandchildren, Logan, Aiden and Camdyn; brothers, Ellis and wife, Vernelle, Gerald and wife, Patsy; nephews, Ellis Jr., Herb and Donnie; niece, Sandy; as well as many loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. on Sunday, February 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, at 11 a.m. Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 8016 Atlee Rd. Interment will be at Westhampton Memorial Park at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Parkway, Richmond, Va. 23227.
