WILSON, Marty Sr., 53, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; mother, Joyce W. Norfleet and her husband, Bob; daughter, Julie Wilson; son, Marty Wayne Wilson Jr. and his wife, Stephanie; brothers, Herman L. Wilson Jr. and Ronnie L. Wilson Sr.; three grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Karie Wilson and Marty W. Wilson III. He was predeceased by his father, Herman L. Wilson Sr. Marty worked for Dominion Virginia Power out of the Dutch Gap Station as Chief Operating Officer. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be made to either the American Heart Association or St. Judes Children's Hospital.

A life cut short and a great teacher lost. I am saddened but yet I pray that the family finds joy in knowing that Marty went to be with his savior.I owe Marty a lot for everything he has given me in knowledge and friendship and hopefully one day I will see him smile again.Stay strong Marty J ....

It is with great sadness that I read of Marty's passing. I have such great memories of working with Marty for a number of years at Chesterfield Power Station. He was always a person you could count on, especially under difficult times. He will be truly missed. My family wishes to extend our deepest sympathy to his family and hope that they are comforted by the fact that Marty was a wonderful man who touched so many lives.
