I was so saddened to hear that Glenn left us at such a young age. I went to school with Glenn and we were the best of friends. I so wish we had kept in touch with each other. We had so much fun and so many laughs together, especially in our high school Geometry class. We spent the year lost, as did the entire class. Glenn was always called on by the teacher because we were seated in alphabetic order and his name was first on the list. We never knew an answer unless it was printed in the back of the book, and then if Mr. Allin (may have the spelling wrong) asked how we arrived at that answer, we were in trouble again. I remember Glenn and I and Kyle Bishop sat on that same row all year and laughed together and cried together when we got our grades. My heart goes out to Glenn's family. I just lost my only brother, David Basl (age 53), from lymphoma in 2006. I know some of your pain. Please know what a wonderful young man I knew Glenn to be. I wish you God's peace in the coming days. Diane Basl Gay (Prince George, VA)

I remember Glenn as the younger brother of my best childhood friend, Patricia. As my sister Kim Poland pointed out in an earlier entry, we just lost our father on Valentine's Day, so we understand the pain you are suffering. May you take comfort in recalling the memories of the loving relationship you enjoyed.

I'm so sorry about your loss. The few months I knew him was a privilege. I met him when he came to Madisons. I was going through a rough time seeing as I had lost my grandfather 1 year ago on that date. I try to remember all the fun times we had together. We would stay up to all hours of the night and play cards, watch movies or just sit and talk. Spending time with him was the highlight of my day. I will always remember him. He treated me as any person deserves, with the utmost respect and dignity. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. So if I can be of any help any at all or you want to talk please call me or come by. Once again on behalf of all his friends at Madisons We are so sorry about your loss.

I am so very sorry to hear about Glenn. I worked with him at WCVE and we remained friends after he left the station. I spoke with him just a few weeks ago. He was offering me condolences on the recent loss of my mother. He wouldn't allow the conversation to drift towards his own health or situation. He was concerned about me as well as my family. That tells so much about Glenn.
He was also terribly proud of his niece and nephew. Any achievement that you all made was a source of great pride and joy for him. He used to call me to his office or email me to show me the latest pics of you two or to read the latest newspaper article.
Of his sister Glenn always said to me that you could out-do Martha Stewart. He told me that you had a way of making family gatherings special and something he always looked forward to. Glenn loved you all very much.
I am so sorry for the loss you have suffered.

Glenn & I were in school together & played trumpets in the band. He had a great sense of humor & we had a blast joking around (& getting into trouble!). I just recently lost my father, so I know the grief you are feeling. My heart goes out to Glenn's family. Though his life was short, it sounds like he left a wonderful legacy. To Pat Albert - my sister, Linda Poland Pridgen, has mentioned you fondly over the years. I am so sorry to hear about Glenn.
