Sarah Ella Foxx Smith

SMITH, Mrs. Sarah Ella Foxx, of Powhatan County, departed this life February 24, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Smith; and son, Herbert Frank Smith. She is survived by three sons, Clarence Foxx, Walter Smith and Fitzgerald Smith (Lottie); four daughters, Dorothy Henley (Peter), Sarah L. Smith, Katherine Sherrod (Larry), and Geraldine Earley (James); one brother, Ransome Foxx; 13 grandchildren, Randy, Arlicia, Jamieson, Sterling (Sharon), Shawndell (Willey), Cecelia, Kim, Orlando (Bonita), Adeina (Jamarl), April (Samuel), Warren, Omar and James Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law, Constance, Dorothy, Edna, Ethel, Mildred and Tina; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Smith and Bishop Lindbergh Cox; and a host nieces and nephews, among them devoted, John Bonaparte (Liz); cousins; devoted friend, Connie Harriss; a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Friday (today), 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3090 Judes Ferry Road, Powhatan County. Rev. Warren Lewis, pastor, officiating. Interment church cemetery.
