WALTON, Ella Ruth, 70, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2009 after a long courageous battle with her illness. She was the devoted wife of William Oscar Walton Sr.; loving mother of Kimberly Ruth Walton, Robin Walton Rozell and her husband, Donald, Bill Walton and his wife, Laurie and Cheryl Thomas Walton; beloved grandmother of Justine Walton, Trey Walton and Jordan Rozell; sister of Elden McKinnon and his wife, Maidie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ollie Mae Davis; and her stepmother, Opal Davis. The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Road. Funeral services will be Monday 2 p.m. at Mechanicsville Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Mattaponi Baptist Church Cemetery in King and Queen County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chattering Children School, 1307 Lakeside Ave., Richmond, 23228.
