My Dear Lucy, as it closes in on a year since you have been gone I can not express how much I love you and deeply I miss you. I still find myself reaching for the phone to tell you the latest things going on or just to say hi, see how you are and tell you I love you. I will never be able to express how much I appreciate everything you do for me and how big the whole is in my heart. Until I see you again, please remember I love you SO much!

Thoughts and prayers are with the family. It has been years since a Crafton reunion, but I have fond memories of Lucy and Cary.

Dear Scottie and Carol, it certainly is hard to loose a Mother. How well many of us know that. Though I never knew yours, as a fellow classmate of Scottie, I can sympathize. Each is different and unique, but each has a place in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers go with this note. May God bless each and may we each be ready to meet Him on that day, to be reunited with our Mothers.

Although we only knew Lucy for a short time, she quickly became part of our family. We enjoyed her wit and humor and especially how she cared about and was genuinely interested in everyone's well-being. We will miss her and hope that all of her family and friends are comforted by fond memories.

I didn't get to know Aunt Lucy for very long but enjoyed talking to her on the phone and hearing stories about when mom would spend summer in Va visiting. I liked all the National Geographic she bought me and telling her what was on the cover. I love and miss her.

There are not enough words to express how much I love Lucy (mom) and how deeply I will miss our nightly phone chats. She always made me feel better no matter what was going on and told me nightly how much she cares and loves me. I don't know what to do without her-I have been at a loss all week-end and it just doesn't seem to sink in that she is in heaven now.
I will love and miss her forever.

Even though I knew it was rough going, I still hoped and prayed that Aunt Lucy would pull through. She was so strong and as she reminded me many times, “The Mitchells’ are strong people.” She was always concerned about others, no matter how poorly she was feeling; her first concern was how others were doing and what she could do to help. I enjoyed our chats about the farm and genealogy, her flowers and Dogwood trees, the TV shows we both watched and the stories about my Grandmother growing up. She’d always say, “How you?” when I’d get on the phone with her, immediately ask how everyone was doing and then we’d chat about this or that. We had so many fun chats and she had such a great sense of humor and the stories she would tell, the way she would tell them, always made me laugh. She was such a special lady, who touched so many peoples hearts, so caring and loving and such a wonderful person. I am so sad that she’s gone but so blessed to have known her. I love her and will miss her very much.
