Loran "Dean" Byers

BYERS, Loran "Dean," 77, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara E. Byers; sons, Loran Byers and his wife, Melanie, and Raymond Byers and his wife, Rose; daughter, Barbara Petrohovich and her husband, Stan; brothers, James Byers and his wife, Bev, Laverl Byers and his wife, Dolores, and Exel Byers and his wife, Betty; grandchildren, Dean Allen, Robin, Charlie, Amber, Joseph and Amy; great-grandchildren, Kristina, Chip and Stevie. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Minnie Bowers Byers. Mr. Byers retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be Wednesday (today) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Road, Richmond, Va. 23234.
