PETERS, Elizabeth Grant "Betty", 65, of Richmond, died February 22, 2009. The widow of Peyton P. Peters, she is survived by her son, Stuart Grant Peters of Dunlow, W.Va. Also surviving are a sister, Helen Grant; and brothers, R. James Grant and Lawson Grant. Betty served for many years on the Council of the Historic Richmond Foundation and was a former member of the Junior League of Richmond. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at Christ Episcopal Church, Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Virginia.

I was so sorry to learn of your dear mother's passing, but know that she is in a much better place. You are like one of my own, and I'm always glad to hear about you from Jason. I am so happy that you and Jason are so close. My love to you and your family. My prayers are with all of you.

Am very sad to learn of Betty's death . We had a lot of great times in Girl Scouts and in college together. I often thought of her and her son after Peyton died and hoped they were getting on all right. To him, and Helen, Lawson and Buddy I send my deepest sympathy.
