Nancy Ellen McClure

McCLURE, Nancy Ellen, of Chester, Virginia, passed away early on August 12, 2009. Nancy was born in the mountains of Virginia on March 21, 1926, and will be laid to rest in the valley of the Blue Ridge and Appalachians at Locust Bottom Cemetery in Botetourt County. She was married in 1951 and enjoyed a life of travel and adventure with her military spouse. When Nancy was not maintaining a family on the go, she volunteered at local hospitals, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, school events and for other social causes. She was sincerely loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Joseph McClure; her daughter, Sharon Kim Sweet and husband, Frank Sweet, and their children, Cameron and Sam; her son, Joseph W. McClure III and his wife, Katherine, and their children, Jessica and Lauren; and her sister, Peggy Maydian. Service arrangements have been made for 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge and graveside service at 1 p.m. at Locust Bottom Cemetery.
